Before leaving South Africa we
encounter heavy traffic,
slow moving traffic.

Ramatsilosi's border post. A busy place - the day before, (Thursday), the
vehicle register showed that only twenty two cars had crossed the border.

A view once across the border,
typical of Southern Lesotho.

Pedestrians along the way.

Up, up, up we go - over the mountains
to Sehlabathebe Nat Park.

A storm is brewing and we had some
heavy rain; 4-wheel drive essential.

A view from the lodge of a feature
called the 'knuckles'.

A hike to the top of the 'knuckles' takes
about 5 hours, there and back.

Giant mushrooms. Did not know if they
are edible; we decided not to try!

There were wild flowers everywhere....

The Lodge.

The botanists spent their time with their bottoms in the air.

A shepherd's shelter.

The archaeologists argue.

Another view of the shelter.
Note another on the right

A grinding stone for maize (corn),
or wheat.
